Oil Bowl of Longview Will Reopen to Public on May 24, 2020

New Sanitization and Social Distancing Protocols in Place to Ensure Safer Environment

Longview, TX – Oil Bowl, which has been providing family fun and entertainment to the (location) since the late 1960’s, will reopen its doors to the public on May 24th, 2020 after more than a 2 month closure that was mandated by the State of Texas and Governor Abbott for all non-essential businesses in an effort to combat the spread of  COVID-19.

“The health and well-being of our customers and team members is our top priority,” said Tra Autry. “Since the State of Texas announced that certain non-essential businesses would have the opportunity to resume full business operations, we have been conducting a comprehensive review of city, state and federal operating guidelines and how they apply to our center. Based on our review, which we have done in consultation with local health and medical professionals, we will be prepared to welcome back the public by the weekend of May 24, 2020.”

During the time that Oil Bowl has been closed to the public, center management has been focused on new methods of sterilization and deep cleaning of its entire 35,000 square-foot facility located at 1102 W Cotton St. The center has also revamped and updated its operational processes and procedures to best ensure the safety of its guests and employees, including scheduled sanitization of bowling balls, shoes bathrooms, and public use areas. The 32 center, which plans a phased approach to its opening, will initially limit the number of customers occupying its facility at any one time as it adheres to state and municipal required social distancing guidelines that are still in place.

“We have a very large and spacious establishment, which will allow for us to properly place bowlers across our lanes at a safe and comfortable distance apart,” said Tra Autry. “We want to provide all of our bowlers with a respite during these difficult times but do so in a way that’s carefully planned in order to keep our team members and bowlers safe and healthy.

We encourage everyone that wants to come out and bowl to do so.  Remember that In this day and age now we must be extra cautious about safely practicing social distancing guidelines, proper sanitizing and hand washing procedures.  Please call ahead for a reservation as most of our lane availability is limited at this time.  Our main goal is to provide a clean fun-filled atmosphere for everyone.  We will be limiting bowling to 5 people per lane and no more than 10 people to a group over 2 lanes.  There will be empty lanes between every group to adhere to the social distancing guidelines.  If you are using a house ball and rental shoes, please LEAVE them in the bowling area when you are finished.  We will clean and sanitize them for the next set of customers.

Oil Bowl of Longview has been providing a great family friendly clean environment for more than 40 years and we continue to make things better for our customers.
